Jakarta – jendeladunia.id

The film “Wait Until I Succeed” (Tunggu Aku Sukses Nanti) successfully stirs the emotions of viewers with a story that feels close, relevant, and representative of those who are still striving to achieve success in life.

Actor Ardit Erwandha, who plays the lead role for the first time in a drama film, delivers a powerful performance portraying layers of exhaustion, anger, and determination as his character Arga struggles to earn recognition within his extended family.

A Press Screening and Press Conference for the film was held on Monday (March 9, 2026) at Studio 2, XXI Epicentrum Kuningan, South Jakarta. The film is scheduled to be released in Indonesian cinemas during the Eid holiday season of 2026.

A Story About Family and Struggle

Directed by Naya Anindita and written by Evelyn Afnilia, the film offers a heartfelt story about life’s struggles and the burdens carried by family breadwinners, told through the perspective of Arga.

Producer Sunil Samtani explained that the film reflects social realities experienced by many Indonesian families, especially during the emotional moments of the Eid holiday.

“This film is light yet touching. Audiences will feel close to the story, and when they leave the cinema, they will carry a warm feeling,” said Sunil Samtani.

Director Naya Anindita added that the film portrays how Arga, as the backbone of his family, struggles to realize his dreams and break free from the expectations and dependencies of his extended family.

“For me, this story is very personal and relatable,” she said.

Naya also highlighted the dynamic atmosphere of Indonesian family gatherings during Eid — from annoying relatives asking classic questions about life achievements to subtle competitions over success — all of which become moments of reflection for Arga as the main character.

Ardit Erwandha’s Emotional Performance

For Ardit Erwandha, portraying Arga was a deeply personal experience. He felt that the character reflected many aspects of real-life struggles.

“I learned a lot from Arga. In the past, when I felt sad, I would pretend to be strong. Now I’m learning to validate my emotions. If you’re tired, it’s okay to admit that you’re tired,” Ardit shared.

He also revealed that after finishing the filming process, he became emotional.

“After the shoot, I even cried because I felt I had overcome challenges I used to be afraid of.”

Ardit hopes the film can resonate with those who carry heavy responsibilities in life.

“For those who are fighting for their dreams and supporting their families, it’s okay to feel tired or angry. Those feelings are valid. I hope Wait Until I Succeed can embrace you,” he added.
